Yes..........the tax i payed was for NC state and not federal. The Federal Tax credit for buying a hybrid was $650 and that came off my 2007 taxes.

I thought I'd replied to this but I guess not. I bought an '08 TCH with all options but NAV; MSRP was $29,919. The dealer came down to $25,500. This was two months ago when Toyota was doing the $1K cash back so my final price was $24,500. The dealership is Wellesley Toyota in Massachusetts. Contact me if you'd like more info.

I did trade in an 04 Camry LE, but I first negotiated the price of the new car before discussing anything about a trade in. I got $10.6K for the Camry, average (good) condition, ~42K miles. It was a little lower than I expected but it was okay. So then of course that left $13.9K owed on the new car.

Cool Re: Pricing help needed

Updates: I love the car inside out.. My first tank I got it up to 528.8 miles and the gauge was showing 41.3mpg average. It took 12.789 gallons to fill up. If i do the math correctly I get 528.8miles/12.789gallons = 41.3mpg. So far the gauge is showing the right mpg, thus, i'm very pleased. I still have at least 4.5 gallons left but was afraid to push it. I will post the picture when I get a chance.

Talking Re: Pricing help needed

I paid $27,700 which included a $750 Toyota factory rebate. Nav, leather, sunroof, ect.

Toyota should throw my neighborhood a party. In the past 2 months I have seen a new Yaris, Prius, and two other Camry's parked in driveways. The TCH appears to be harder to come by around here as the gas prices climb.

Yes, when I bought my TCH just two months ago I was so surprised there was not a greater price premium ('08 as the '09's were just arriving). But now with everyone extra-worried about gas prices, I would think the dealers can easily raise the hybrid prices.
