Angry Plastic Rocker Panel Removal and Replaement

Has anyone had to remove and replace one of the plastic rocker panels under the passenger doors on the TCH? A quarry truck dropped a 6" chunk of cracked rock on the pavement one car ahead of me last week. The car ahead bounced it (don't know HIS damage). It went under the TCH, missed the front tires and the pan, but bounced and took out about a 4x4" piece of the left rocker panel (Ugly!).

I found them on line, even painted (titanium in my case) for less than $300. They LOOK easy to remove and replace, but I want to know if anyone has done it and if so, were there any "gottchas" or tricks.

Thanks,

Thanks, Mike.

Looks like the only tricky part is the eight upper clips, and how easy they will let go.

You're welcome. Yes, I loath the clips they use in auto parts.

I removed and replaced the rocker panels when I installed my body kit. The lower clips and the screw in the rear wheel well are easy to remove. The tricky one is the clip in the front wheel well, which the service manual shows is a part that needs to be replaced if/when you remove it. That's because you will probably need to cut it off to remove it, that's how I did it!

Yes, you were right. The front screw came out OK, but the grommet was a B****. I had to cut it out. Foutunately, they sent one with the part, along with new screws.

Funny that they did it that way. It seems like they just could have done it like the rear screw.

May I ask where you bought the rocker panels from? I searched online and couldn't find any store that carries them. Thanks!
