Am I crazy or does the temperature only display in even numbers when the temp gets below zero? I left home and it was 1°F, but on my way to work it got down to -8, then "warmed" to -6, -4 but never -5 or -7. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I the only one who cares about the outside temp so much?

 

I guess once you get below zero, it really doesn't matter whether it's -5 or -6...it's COLD!

 

you're telling me! I wish whenever it got below +20°F that it would just say COLD instead of the real temperature.

This weather makes your eyes water and the tears freeze to your face

 

Pretty sure I saw -9 all the way to work yesterday but can't remember for sure, memory could malfunction when it's that cold.

 

While I can't speak about temps below zero, (BRRRR) I can provide some explanation...There was a thread on this some time ago. It seems that the temps are collected in degrees C and converted to degrees F, causing that apparent 2 degree jump behaviour.

Makes sense! Although in the thread you pasted, I only experience this behavior when it's below zero, not below 32°F.... Odd?

 

Maybe you just don't notice? I certainly don't pay that much attention.

Yeah, I do not trust that temp at all. To me, it is mostly useless. I sometimes use it to determine how close it might be to freezing so I know if I should slow down a little... :-D
