oops... found my airbag
Hi all!
I'm new here (first post). I have an 07 camry hybrid, and I love it. My other car, and first car ever was a grand prix gtp, hence the username lol. Great weekend car but too much on the gas for going from point a to point b.
Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone else has seen their side curtain airbags staring them in the face? Ever since we bought the car we've been struggling with both A pillars wanting to come off. Now the passenger one has come off so much that you can see the airbag inside, and I think it moved. Obviously the airbag may not deploy right if not in the right position, so I'm going to be taking into the dealer. Before though, has this happened to anyone before? I'm a little nervous about just popping it back in place with a live charge inside there...
Wondering if it was the dealer's fault... maybe they were looking around in there and didn't put it back in right. I doubt the factory would let that slip...
Thanks!

That does sound strange. I'm sure the toyota factory has a very solid inspection for various sections of the car. The dealer should fix your problem like new. Who knows how it ever got that way. All mine on my 2007 are tight and in place like it came from the factory.
gtp405 — There's a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) out on this. I'm attaching it. This should be fixed by the dealer without charge. [I've personally not had any trouble with my trim.]

Thanks for the TSB. the only concern I have with it is the fact that it addresses the issue of replacing the trim if it had been removed, not the fact that there is an issue with it just coming loose. It might work for the OP, but then they might say that he removed it so he is responsible for ensuring it is properly reinstalled.
Either way, I will give a copy to my dealer and see if they can fix it.

It's curious on the TSB. They basically refer to if you've removed it, and put it on again, the clips may be loose. I've had mine off, and those clips really do look like one use items, but I wonder why your car would have had the trim off???? Did the have the dash out? (perhaps for the common rattle repair?)

That service bulletin was interesting. Sounds like it had to be taken off to cause this problem. I wonder why they would take it off at the dealer. Weird. Thanks for all the help. The problem has been fixed by the dealer so lets hope it stays that way.
