Oil options for 2007 TCH
In reading the manual and the discussions here, it seems that 0W-20 and 5W-20 are the recommended oils for the TCH.
I believe in synthetic oils and use Mobil 1 synthetic in my other vehicles. I've read many times of folks comparing 5W-20 "dino" oil and 0W-20 synthetic as their choices - what about 5W-20 synthetic?
Mobil 1 makes (and WalMart stocks) a 5 quart jug of 5W-20 synthetic oil for under $20. This is the same oil that I use in my Honda Odyssey.
Just another option - synthetic oil for ~$4.00 per quart is a pretty good deal (at least for me).
Good Luck!

Re: Oil options for 2007 TCH
I just had the 15000 mile service done at my dealer and they installed 0w20 toyota for $3.87 per quart. Toyota part number is 00920-1Q0W-01. I had to go to three dealers to find one that carried the oil.

If I can get the Toyota 0W-20 synthetic oil for ~$4.00 per quart I'll happily use that. My vehicles are garaged at home but they do sit outside while at work.
I'll have to contact my local dealer and see if they can get some in for me - if so I'll pick up a case. Thanks for the part number, that should make things much easier!!!

You guys are getting boned by your dealers. The Toyota dealer I bought my car from does an OFL with Toyota synthetic oil (I've watched them put the oil in) for 18.95 plus tax. Out the door total is 20.15.
Also, the price of the oil change the day you buy the car is the price you pay for life

Re: Oil options for 2007 TCH
I'm using Castrol 5w-20 dino oil, ~$11.00/5 qts./US WalMart. For a 5k mile oil change interval, using synthetic seems too costly, unless its in extreme cold. Purolator PureOne filter about $6 with tax.
With the oil draining as clean looking as it does, there's probably some life left to it. The synthetics could probably go even further.

Re: Oil options for 2007 TCH
I just got my 5k oil changed from dealer.
i got the 55k service package.
so when i asked they said 5-20W is the one they use and i have to pay like 34$ if i want. 0-20W.I said i was told watever my currently have is what they are going put when i come in for service.
anyway long story short this time they did put 0-20W and its on the paper so next time i am going to ask them to do the same.
btw i live in norcal not sure if 0-20w would make any diff. here
any input???
