Same thing happened with my non-nav radio/CD-changer. Would only have the problem in the summer. Would go bonkers when going home from work after the car was in the hot sun all day. Rebooting did nothing, had to wait for the car to cool down. Radio was replaced under warranty.

Apparently several Toyota models with that radio have this issue. The dealer didn't even try to reproduce the problem, just immediately ordered a new radio when I told him the symptoms. He claimed that the replacements have been redesigned to address the issue.
