my boyfriend's rav 4's stereo just flipped out too. the display was suddenly scrambled and really pixelated. he shut off the engine and switched it back on and it was fine. apparently it's not a unique situation since a lot of ppl on the Rav 4 boards have had it happen to them too.

Wow!!!

This absolutely worked! I took out the fuse (#15 in the engine fusebox) and turned the car on and abracadabra! It allowed me to take out the CDs! I've only put one back in, and it works. I'm sort of afraid to try putting 4 in again, but at least this stopped a trip to the dealership (scheduled for Monday).

Thanks again!

Noel

I'm pleased it worked.
My son's stero hasn't had a problem in the last 2 years now. Hope yours works as well.

Hi,

can anyone tell me how to access the "#15 in the engine fusebox", and explain what I need to do with it to get the CD chnager working.
I have the same problem..after I got wooden dashboard installed.. The dealer says they do not play with CD player during installation of dashboard. Is this covered by warranty?
Even if it is I may not want to spend another day waiting at the dealer.

I think one of the manuals that come with the car has pictures showing all fuse box locations and lists what they protect, you would look for radio standby or radio's memory fuse, they would have numbers also. It's nice to have some general idea where things are in your car anyway, or at least know where to find that info, it could save you some major headaches in the future.

I don't have the navigation system in my TCH. Mine has the 6-changer JBL radio. I read in the car manual that it has a manual eject. I think its a small hole where you can punch maybe a small screwdriver to eject any jammed CD. I did not read the details but once your remove the CD's try some others and see if it works.
