Default MPG Assistance

Can someone tell me if there are any tips to getting high-30's mileage? I've only had it a couple of days but have been getting 33-34 MPGs. I also noticed that at a full stop the gas engine still runs, eventhough the battery is fully charged. Am I driving it wrong or is there a problem? Or is it a break-in thing?

Any assistance woudl be great!

When you stop and your ICE is running, is your A/C on? If so are you using the ECO mode.
