It bothers me that I can add to this list . I decided not to buy the NAV option and I prefer to keep my dash-display on avg MPG so I can play pushing my 41.x up to 42.x.

Anyway I miss not having the external temperature displayed. I've learned that 7 pushes on the display button take me to the temp and two more take me back to my mileage video game.

However yesterday I discovered:

6. Holding in the "disp" button will cause the dash display to jump to outside temperature.

I am not sure how accurate the outside temperature reading is.

Probably about as accurate as the average mpg

Actually it seems fairly close (within a degree or so to what the local radio stations report).

Before getting my TCH, I drove a (conventionally-powered) Highlander for 5 years. The outside temperature reading was very accurate once the vehicle had been moving for a few minutes. I believe the temperature sensor is near the front, so it can sense the air that the car is driving into. If the TCH uses the same technology, I would expect it to be pretty accurate.

And I agree completely about missing the outside temperature reading... I will need to give this tip a try!
