I find the attached pages (from the New Car Features Guide) concerning the different modes of the TCH (OFF, ACC, ON, READY) interesting. See especially page BE-94. Note that ACCessory power is automatically turned off after 1 hour of operation in ACC mode — presumably to prevent running the 12-V battery flat.
