Inverter Coolant Change
Dealer wants $135 to change the Inverter Coolant.
I do not have a scan tool to run the pump. So, I cannot do it myself.
Has anyone done this recently? Does this sound like a fair price?
I plan on getting it done Friday. It is Wayyyy overdue.

Re: Inverter Coolant Change
I don't understand, why change out the inverter coolant. I had called the local toyota tech asking him that very same question months ago when I then had my '07 TCH, but then ended up buying a new '12 TCH a short time later.
He told me it don't need replacing till 125,000 miles. Next round would be 50,000 miles later. I may not be exact on the second change miles but I think that was correct. This may also go for the radiator coolant change.

Re: Inverter Coolant Change
Well.. We drive alot. That is basically what they told me too.
The car turned over 125000 last week. We drive 600 to 800 miles per week.
I am wanting to see what others have paid.

Re: Inverter Coolant Change
The '12 maintenance book says at 120,000 miles on plug replacement. I don't recall the replacement miles for the sparkplugs on my '07 TCH as I never planned on keeping it that long waiting for the '12 models to come out.
Having the toyota dealer change out your coolants is insurance you want have any bubbles or air gaps in those systems once they are closed back up.

Re: Inverter Coolant Change
Thanks. Im just going to have them do it tomorrow.
I did the plugs around 120000. I also did the water pump and engine coolant. Pretty easy jobs on both. The water pump was time consuming, but not difficult.
I also did the PSD oil back around 78000 after reading about few bad oil analysis on the Prius forum. That is coming due again too. Another easy job. The car has been amazingly easy to work on so far.
I plan to drive it one more year and get either a new TCH or a Lexus 250h.
