There is a three second pause after locking the doors before they will unlock again. Lock the doors, and then try to open them again right away. If you don't wait too long (anything under three seconds), it works fine.

That's what I do, but heck....sometimes I think I am going insane! I am still getting used to power locks and locking my doors

I didn't figure it out by myself. From page 38 of the user guide (2007): "For three seconds after the doors have been locked, the doors cannot be unlocked via the smart key system. This feature allows the operator to confirm that the doors are locked."
