Information on how the TCH works
Thanks to one of the forum's members - I got a lot of information on how the Prius works and generally how the hybrid synergy drive works. However, the TCH seems to have its own enhancements over the Prius. Can someone point me to technical information on how the TCH works?
The Toyota information is very high level and does not give a lot of details. There seems to be more Prius info out there than TCH.

The best general "tutorial" on the TCH is in the service manual*. There is a section called "new car features" that describes the car in good detail.
You will find answers to many questions in there. Like your question about the "reverse" in the other thread. If you are a curious or technical person you will really enjoy reading it.
Overall the TCH has many similarities with the Prius. Both are Toyota's "2nd" generation HSD system. There are a few minor differences in the drivetrain, but I wouldn't call them major enhancements. Wait for the 3rd generation Prius (due in 2009) for those!
Unfortunately the TCH doesn't attract as many technical types as does the Prius. The best information sources for our car reside over on the Prius sites. Priuschat is the largest and most active. Just pretend you have a Prius!
We are part of the same family with the same "DNA".
* The service manual is available for around $400 printed (4 volumes), or can be downloaded (not easily, it is split up into hundreds of .pdf files) from http://techinfo.toyota.com/ with a subscription. People also have (*ahem*) CDs on eBay.
