Thats about normal on the MFD reading. I have heard of readings from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 mpg higher than the calculated figures. That could be how level the pump drive is where you do your fill. I have also got my best results finding one pump and use is on each fill. Try the one time auto shutoff. That seems to work the best.
