I am to only get back 1,403 of the 2,600 I am qualified for and no there is no carry over, it is lost. Too many deductions, not enough income.

I got only less than $1,200 out of $2,600 ... hmmm very disppointed, gov. should put extra emphasis and encourage people to get hybrids by making sure each one gets the full hybrid credit.

AMT hit me somewhat too - I am among the clueless regarding taxes, putting all my faith in Turbotax. I'm still happy with the car and would do it all over again. Love the JBL.

I did my taxes last night using turbo tax and I will get both the 3150 for the prius i purchased in jan and the 1300 for the camry i purchased in nov.
I checked this am and both my federal and state were accepted.
If this is bait and switch i love it

Just wondering...
I purchased my TCH a week ago. Will I be able to take advantage of the $1300 credit on next year's taxes?

I filled out the form as if I purchased last year and it increased my refund by $1300. I hope the same will hold true when I fill out the form next year.

Yes it should work next year. I think the cutoff for the purchase date is the end of March, when the credit is cut in half once again.

Yes, you are correct. March 31st is the cutoff before it splits in half. Until the end of October (the next six months).

I'm getting $2347 rather than $2600, but I'll admit I didn't take the time to scrutinize where the $253 went. I was happy it was so close after reading some of the posts here.

Add me to the list that was when I found out as I was doing my taxes that I can kiss my tax credit goodby.

Disgusted.

ATTENTION!!! I am no tax expert but at first it looked as if I was only getting about $500 of the $1300 credit because of the dreaded "minimum tentative tax" . Then I found out that there was a bug in Turbo tax where it was not importing my AMT capital gains carry over correctly and thus messed up my line "16" of the AMT worksheet. Once this was corrected I got my full credit. The rest of you might want to check this. Here's a link explaining the problem:
