Thanks for the info. I'm planning on using a HiQ 5/160 for HF/6 - have one on my house right now that I'll be replacing with an R6000 next weekend. Will take my Kenwood 70cm/2m radio out of my car and into the shack and will need to get a 160-70cm transceiver--either your Yaseu (or the 857D that replaced it) or one of the two icoms that can do it all. I'll be putting the Hi-Q into the hidden hitch for mounting, though at the back end of the car like that it will be missing half the ground screen, so more gound losses. Your mounting place is more ideal, but I don't think the heavy Hi-Q can get mounted there without some major bodywork. Got worried reading about HF vs Hybrid problems on the net, so reassuring to hear it works fine for you. Thanks again
