Anybody know if the TCH has an HD radio receiver in it? I'm completely audio-ignorant ...

No, the radio that comes with the TCH is analog and not HD.

High Definition Radio. CD quality on FM and FM quality on AM. Hasn't really caught on. Here in Chicago there are a hand full of HD stations. See: http://www.hdradio.com

It's digital CD quality radio. They broadcast in the frequency range between regular stations. There is no subscription fee (unlike XM and Sirius) but you need a HD radio to receive it.
