Default H11 to H9 Headlights

Just changed to the H9 bulbs and what a difference, like night and day.Much better than the PIIA bulbs. Only problem is that within two days one of the high beams burnt out. I know it should not be related but was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem or similar by going from the 55 watt to 65 watt bulb.

Haven't tried. Maybe it is getting too hot?

That’s what I thought but I can't see why the low beam should be burning out the 9005 high beams. Maybe it’s just hazard that it happened right after putting in the H9 low beams. I'll put new 9005s in and see what happens. I pulled the H9 to see if showed signs of overheating and they were spotless with no heat on light housing or wires. It would be a shame to pull them because of the incredible difference they make and I have tried a few the Xenon bulbs out there and there is no comparison.

Yeah. It wouldn't make sense for the low beam to over heat and cause the high beam to burn out.

I don't think they share the same circuit so the increased wattage is probably not the problem.

Probably just dumb luck.

So you like the H9 bulbs at 65w as opposed to the HIDs? I installed 35w HIDs and am now clambering for 55w HIDs. lol ... I need help.

I just wanted a easy fix for the poor lighting on the camry, without the ballasts and wiring. Car is a lease so I'm not going to go in any mods I will have to remove later.

So did you figure out why your highbeams went out? I want to change out the lights on my TCH, not to HID or anything, but just something better (plus to a bulb that I can actually find!).. Looking for something that won't fry the wiring or anything. Is this about what you were looking for?

No reason just odd timing I guess. The H9 are twice as bright as the h11 almost as bright as the HID but not as blue white. An easy fix for the poor low beams on the Camry.

Any particular websites that you went to for the bulbs? Are they street legal as well? I don't seem to have too much luck in my current search.. Well I found H9 foglights and H9 low beams.. but any specific links would be good.
