Thanks schmidtj. Good article but I certainly don't fit the demographic....

Don't make 100k and am not over 30 (let alone 50).

I suspect that the salary is high because the car costs more than the cheaper high mileage cars. For example, you can pick up a Yaris for under 15k and get in the 30s. But the Camry will be over 25k. (Yes I know it is not an apples to apples comparison, put the price and mileage is what matters when you don't make a lot of money and need to save.)

I fit the demographic in every detail except one -- I don't own a video game.

Bingo...I hate being slotted like that but if the shoe fits. I'm going to have to buy another car now that is not so typical of my demographic grouping.

I'll admit I fit the demographics except for politics - I'm an Independent, not Democrat or even Democrat leaning.

I'm a Billionaire, high school dropout socialist who doesn't own, nor has ever used, a computer.
I like playing tic tac toe by myself, taking long walks on the beach and spending quiet times in front of the fireplace reading poetry that doesn't rhyme.
I was born at the cusp of Taurus and Capricorn, but had my sign legally changed to Scorpio.
I am left handed, but am able to walk with both feet.
I like pizza with Kellogg's Cornflakes and sour creme topping.
I drink decaffeinated water and like carbonated espresso.
I don't fit the demographic mold, do I?

P.S. I don't like, nor respect, these demographic models, in case you couldn't tell.

Under 40 (for the moment, hehe), under $100k, apparently underconsuming in gadgetry? My only cell phone is for work, no video game consoles, no mp3 players, no laptop (again except for work's). My only DVR equipment would be a couple of pcs using Media Center. Do my 2 VCRs count? I still use the VCR I got in... 1991 or so? Could have been 1992 rather. Hell still using the $200 stereo I bought in high school, lol.

I don't like those demographics either.. Though I fit all of them except for political and age.

I think these "stereotypes" and "classifications" are just wrong. I really doubt most 20 somethings are environmentally conscious. I would say 33% are, 33% aren't and 33% pretend to be.

If I were to plop down 30-35k on a car, and if I were still in my 20s and single, it would be an Infiniti G coupe..
