Finding joy in a refill

Finding joy in a refill
Never in my life did I ever expect to actually feel happiness when filling my car. Yet, there I stood, with an ear to ear grin as a filled my tank after 360 miles (with plenty more to go). It topped off after 10 gallons. The official mileage was 35.4 mpg off the first 10 gallons. After years (like 12) of averaging under 20, I could do nothing but smile.
I can't image how Prius owner's must feel, but I can't help feeling a little smug as I am watching all these SUVs fill up around me.
(Yes, I realize one can do better than 35 MPGs, but I am going to be saving over 200 a month in gas vs. my previous vehicles.)
I was actually laughing out loud as I walked back to my car after I put the gas nuzzle back. I got a few odd, or dirty looks. But it was worth it. I actually had FUN filling my car up probably for the first time ever!
So far, I really like this car! GO BUY ONE!!!!

Re: Finding joy in a refill
This morning when I filled up I heard a guy complaining about filling his truck for 100 bucks and it only lasting him a week. If he only knew I was on the other side of the pumping filling my car with only 50 bucks and getting 3 weeks out of it! Yes, I smiled too.
