Exactly. Opening the windows or moonroof is fine, when you are going reasonably slow. There's no appreciable drag from doing that. At faster highway speeds, its very significant, and that's where the A/C comes in.

So do I. But not at highway speeds. Not only is it bad for FE, but it's noisy.

I love driving home from work down the expressway with all of the windows down and sunroof open with the stereo cranked up.
