Duelling with "dual"

Duelling with "dual"
Over the last week or so, my non-nav TCH has been spontaneously switching itself to the "dual" climate control mode. I put it back, glance down later, and it back in dual. This is occasionally accompanied by the ECO being turned off, as well. Not a huge deal, but a frustrating glitch. Anyone else had this??

Re: Duelling with "dual"
There are several climate control default settings that can be changed by the dealer, including turning off the auto recirculation feature. I also didn't care for having the a/c compressor turned on no matter what the outside temperature, or changes in the vents the air flowed from.
The dealer took care of everything in about 10 minutes. No charge. Also, I had the seat belt buzzer turned off.

wxman3 — Some time ago, someone in this newsgroup reported that he/she had a similar experience. It was due to the passenger-side temperature control **** having been left "between detents." Perhaps this sends sporadic temperature-change signals to the circuitry as the dash flexes. This would keep switching it into DUAL mode, and if the temperature setting got high/low enough, it would also kick it out of ECO mode (see the Owner's Manual). Perhaps the **** is also binding against the escutcheon? [By the way, hold your finger against the right-hand edge of the radio, touching the dash, as you travel, and you can feel the flexing that I'm referring to.]
