sort of fun to take them in my silverado. left on brakes, right on gas, step on gas and slowly release brakes - whoo-hoo!
But just a real ***** with a stick shift....

Release the e-brake in synchroniation.........

so, i was in north Seattle, sitting uphill today. left on brake pedal, right on gas, as always. then i remembered of this post, took my left off the brake pedal, and placed right one on it, just like everyone else does.
then, taking off, i released brake pedal and switched to gas pedal.
SHE DID NOT ROLL BACK, AND ICE STARTED RIGHT AWAY.
apparently, she is smart enough to hold brakes on steep hills!

Or, if you have a Ford Fusion Hybrid, just push the "TC Off" button . This allows you to spin the wheels, but limits wheelspin to 40 virtual MPH, and engine speed to 2000 RPM (yes, we have a tachometer too ). I did this once when stuck on some especially slippery graupel. The wheels spun for about a second and the car was free. Before I disabled TC, it felt like the accelerator just wasn't connected to anything. So it looks like Ford has a better idea. [Ducks behind curtain to avoid rotten tomatoes .]

I like to think you mean "TC disable", not VSC. Many new FWD and/or F/awd vehicles have this TC off feature, RWD's alsway have had.

Indeed you are correct. I got my acronyms mixed up. Error has been corrected. Thanks!
