Declination Anyone?
<ahem> Er, well... um, maybe...
By the way, for guys who detest shaving, try the new Gillette Fuzion power razor. It is the shaving counterpart to the Camry Hybrid. You'll never go back to anything less.

The manual says to use the "circling method" when you first buy your car, as well. My zone was set to 8 when it should have been 5. Lucky I didn't end up in the ocean... my Camry hates saltwater.
Ours was purchased in Chicago (looks like zone 8) Question.....Since I live in Florida (zone 9), if the car is operating in another zone do you have to re claibrate the compass each time you enter a different zone or is it compensated automatically? I have the Service Bulletin for calibrating the compass and all it states is "detectection varies according to the area in which the vehicle is used"
I know using a regular compass in a boat the charts list deviation for magnetic north and you need to manually compensate for that when taking a compass heading.

Looks like they come from the factory set to 8. You would need to recalibrate it if you change zones but honestly the compass headings are so imprecise (8 positions) or 45 degrees each I don't thing being a zone or two off one way or the other will make a whole lot of difference.
