Hello,

My check engine light came on this morning less than 1 minute after starting the car. I had the code read, and it is:

P0138 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

The dealer says it is not covered by the federal emissions warranty. I thought it might be under the California Emissions Warranty, but don't know. Does anyone know? I'm at 149,350 miles.

Does anyone know which O2 sensor the P0138 code is for? I'm hoping it is the one right in front under the hood.

 

Sensor 2 is the O2 sensor downstream of the convertor. I doubt they will cover it under warranty. The upside is that they are easy to replace.

It has been 3 days, and about 250 miles, and so far the check engine light has stayed off since the code was read. I'll wait and see if it throws a code again. I averaged 45.3mpg on the tank when I filled up this morning.
