I named myself zombie hybrid because I intend to bring one back from the dead. I have a chance to own a 08 Camry Hybrid, hit in the right (passenger) front. It is not a bad hit, but enough I want to know a little about where the crucial electrical/motor/'synergy' components are before I make an offer. Does anyone know where I can see a good schematic layout of the engine and electric components so I can accurately assess damages? I missed out on one good deal but I am looking for another to ressurect. I see EBAY has the repair manual available, so I may go that route.

If you try a Google search on the Toyota Camry IMA system, you'll probably not find anything. IMA is Honda's Integrated Motor Assist and is considered vulgar language around here.

The Camry system is called HSD for Hybrid Synergy Drive. Try a Google search on that instead and you might find what you need.

 

Thanks, I fixed my error. I have learned a lot in the past couple days, but still need the help. Google did not give me anything other than the Toyota site and reviews of the car from various editors of car mags.
