If you can get some studded snow tires. My TCH lives in snow and ice from November through April. It works great.( not good in two feet of snow. No clearence)

There is a post that has the directions to turn the traction control off here in the forum somewhere. I looked it up in the search and printed it and put it in the car.

TCH was great in today's blizzard.
Left it in the garage and drove the wife's CRV to work.
No problems!

Tires make a big difference. I never heard of a way to turn off the traction control system either. I will search the site now but it must take pulling a fuse...there is no switch like in a VW.

Drove my TCH yesterday with the new snow tires on the snow and ice. Did excellent! The new tires were fantastic, passed 4x4's that couldn't go on the ice. Made it up my driveway without turning off the traction control also. Very happy, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..........

Use the search and look up traction control, there is a sequence to turn it off, you don't have to pull a fuse.
