- How much lighter is CF than fiberglass? I have a CF camera tripod that's half the weight of its aluminum counterpart, but have no frame of reference with respect to fiberglass.
- Does anyone know about the safety ramifications of a CF hood? Stock (and presumably aftermarket) hoods are designed to crumple predictably on impact. CF is well known for extremely high rigidity and strength. How would it respond to the impact of a typical collision? I have visions of it penetrating the passenger compartment whole, or possibly shattering.
I suspect someone on this forum might have knowledge of this (paging Bob Wilson?)
