My blue factory alarm light under the dash is ALWAYS ON - BLUE LIGHT on all the time.

Is this normal? Anyone else pay for the factory alarm, and does it work, and is the blue light on ALL THE TIME?

 

Factory alarm, as in the VIP 3200+ system? I have that, I don't see any blue lights...

 

I have the VIP 3200 as well Larry, and I don't see any blue light that I can recall. Can you describe exactly where this light is at on your vehicle?

 

On my contract, my alarm is listed as "Southwest Dealer Services Alarm $599.00" do myabe I do not have the "factory alarm" but a third party alarm. I'll need to askk my dealer I guess.

The blue light is just below the steering wheel on the left side, about 4 inches to the right of the emergency brake pedal. It's a mounted plastic tab with a bright blue light which is on all the time, whether the alarm is activated or not. It never flashes or blinks, it's just bright blue all the time.

Guess I'll just have to ask my dealer next time I'm in there. I'll let everybody know....Thanks...

 

Larry, it looks like you got a third party alarm system. It's $359 for the VIP RS3200 Plus alarm system.

 

The factory alarm has a little red flashing light in the dash next to the clock.
