Oh NO! :-(

We had a bad (rare) hailstorm here in Tucson a couple of years ago, and many dealers had MANY cars damaged by large hail. It seems that the "Dentbusters" type of body repair folks can do a fantastic job on hail damaged cars..I bought one that had been damaged, saw it after the storm ..didn't believe how it looked after a few hours of their expertise...couldn't have been the same car, but it was.

Good luck, and I hope it works out well for you.

Sorry, really sorry to hear that, skywagon. Hail, better said severe thunderstorms that may generate hail, is something I always watch for and always look for covered parking when away from home. Agree with jbollt, you will get it back like new, albeit quite expensive (depending on the damage extend and body shop, up to two thousands or so), but your insurance should cover that, no question. Check with them before you agree for the job to be done on your car. They may also help you negotiate the price. Please let us know how it turns out and your experience dealing with it.

I will try get some pics, went to one of the many tents set up this morning where they take dents out without painting, Bad part of this deal is they must remove headliner ect, can u imagine what that will look like when they are done? had my headliner partially removed to fix a sunroof rattle on my Lexus GX470 and they literally ruined it and it still pisses me off and they were Lexus tecs now these dent people are just fresh off the street. next all the outfits are from out of state (down south) only here for a quick buck. like the person that reroofs your house and splits and it starts leaking, where do u go for help? All the chrome mouldings around windows must be replaced by a body shop at $60 a peice $400 plus $300 labor, i looked at them and the clips pry off and press back on $300???? seems like rip off time. they had a new pickup there Toyota and they took all the dents out and told me that they had to order a new hood,(so body shop makes a little on the deal) the dents they took out were bigger than dents on hood, right on the estimate it says if theycannot get them out it will go to paint shop, may as well send to paint shop right away. I don't know what i will do, just plain disgusting as it seems they are taking advantage of a situation when they move in in tents by the dozens. Sorry for the rant. sk

TCH is finally getting hail dents fixed Monday, hail of a deal lol. Be aware this car is so new that no body parts are listed in the insurance books and they list the 4 door TCH as a Solara (2 door). Insurance companies cannot give you an accurate estimate as they also are having trouble finding any info for these cars so beware and drive safe. One estimate wanted to charge $400 to put on 4 window mouldings where another one wanted .3 a peice for installation which they just clip on so there is a lot of gouging going on. I gringe thinking of the headliner comming out of my new car may never be the same.
