I'm sure this has been mentioned before but invoice is not the same as sticker price. Invoice is how much the dealer paid for the car.........not what's on the window sticker. Invoice for 2007 camry hybrids was around $25,200 with no options. Add options and increase the price accordingly.

I bought mine over the phone -- on the internet.

With a credit card deposit of $50.00

Flew the next day to pick up a fully loaded (everything) for:

$960.00 off of msrp.

Aug 30, 2007

Full $2,600 tax credit.

I was very, very, lucky on the timing.

I was cruising their web-site and found it after some arab squashed the deal.

I paid $100 under dealer invoice in Sept. '07 for an '08.

I did not have a trade-in.

They usually quoted $500 over dealer invoice but I used a buying service that had some special deal with them (they have since stopped that deal and are giving the $500 over dealer invoice only).

LOL

I priced dealers in the state and found one in the boonies who had the best deal.

I bet their rent and operation costs allowed for more leeway.

I got leather package, radio/bluetooth upgrade, carpet runners as my only options.

If you bought it in August, it's only available for the $650 credit. (Federal taxes anyway)

I think it's important, if we are going to dscuss what we paid, to also include if there was a trade-in or not, as this makes a HUGE difference. There is no way for us to know how much of an under-allowance or over-allowance one got on their trade-in, making any "$xxx under invoice deals" that included a trade-in unreliable for price comparisons.

Paid $28,000 for a fully loaded 2008 in December. No trade.
That is $300-400 under invoice.
Just deal with the fleet guy, quick & easy.

To clarify a previous post:

I tried my best in late July to Aug ... to find a loaded TCH anywhere in the USA. No one was quoting anything but msrp and with a wait on delivery. I gave up and was on line trying to find a 'SE' With unbelievable luck, while looking at Fitzmall.com's inventory (worlds largest .. I believe) On Aug 30th, 2006 . A new '07 fully loaded TCH (made in Japan, folks) ... I immediately called and the salesman couldn't believe there was such a car ... Especially offered at $960 below msrp. It happened that a deal fell thru with some idiot middle-east diplomat just 10 mins before and the mngr said get rid of the car a.s.a.p.) Well, I put the $50.00 down with a credit card and flew there on SWA for $86.00. My TCH (loaded) had 16 miles and was in time for the $2,600.00 tax credit.

If you are paying cash ... the on-line deals at www.fitzmall.com should be considered. Awesome.

$27,848 for 2008 TCH with everything but Nav, less $1,500 trade-in for a 1997 Altima that CarMax was only going to give me $750 for. Total- $26,348

Ordered November 28th, took delivery January 14th

Was end of the month/year quota a factor?

Initial contact and sale was through the internet sales manager.
