Talking About to lose my virginity

I am getting ready to visit a gas station for the first time. Who should be my first--Hess, Sunoco or BP? My low fuel light came on this morning on the way to work. Should I do self-service? Should I wear a glove? Do you have any advice for my first time?

I have 495 miles on the tank, and wanted to get at least 500.

I will let you know how it goes, and may even post pictures!

Well, if you go "self-service", try not to get any on you!

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you think that 500 miles is too soon? I might do it after a nice lunch. I will hold out for the top tier--I can be strong.

Go with the station with highest turnover... which probably means the station with the lowest price on average. The reason, you will get gas with low moisture content.

I put 13.910 gallons in for an average of 36.52 mpg. I am happy!

I'm coming up on 600 miles on mine and have yet to put gas in it or reach "E". Computer shows 42.5 on it, so I should still have over two gallons left. The wife is taking it out of town, so I'll fill it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it comes out.

You guys are nuts. I've been averaging 32 for the first 3 tanks. I'm on my 4th tank and averaging 34 now. I've been driving easy too.

Did you get gas yet? I went 48 miles past E and filled up just before arriving at work to day. I tend to push it more than most are comfortable with - but I'm not crazy put 15.0 gallons in at 697 miles. I was soooo tempted to just drive around to put it past 700 miles. I was rather surprised to get 46 mpg this tank. Nice to have winter over with.
