Default 8 Days, 4,365 Miles, 39mpg :-)

My new wife and I just got back from our honeymoon. We drove from Milwaukee, Wisconsin through the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, and Yellowstone to Seattle, Washington. (5 days worth of driving)

From Seattle, we took a seven-day cruise to Alaska and back to Seattle.
We then set out for home, taking 3 solid days to make it back to Milwaukee.

I have to say, the Camry Hybrid is an awesome car for long trips. We logged a total of 4,365 miles. We went through 9 tanks worth of gas, and achieved an average of 38.9 mpg. (A/C always on, but on the ECON setting)

Best mileage was along Hwy 18 from Wisconsin through Iowa, and then from the Twin Cities (MN) back here to Wisconsin (41-42mpg). Worst mileage was through the flat parts of South Dakota (35mpg). (Keeping in mind that the car was fully loaded with 2 adults and 2 and a half weeks worth of luggage... plus the 75mph speed limit through many states didn't help)

I have to say to say, although it probably would have been cheaper and certainly faster to fly... I'm really glad we decided to drive. If you haven't been through the Badlands and Yellowstone, I really recommend it!

We took over 1000 pictures on our honeymoon- including the occasional shot of the Camry with the scenery in the background when the new wife wasn't looking. Not enough people take long road trips anymore... they don't know what they are missing!

Congratulations on your marriage. The trip sounded very romatic, especially the part about photos of the Camry, when no one was looking...you're naughty! Remember, a marriage is about more than mileage and the ECO setting. Good luck on many happy years together between the two of you (that's you and your wife...not you and the car).
