Default $100/BBL oil

Can the threads about escalating resale values, flipping TCHs for a profit and calculating payback on the purchase of a new car in terms of gas savings be far behind?

Gas in my area of northern California is +$3.50/gal. And while the WTI price of oil is $100/bbl, most of the world is paying closer to the Brent price of $112/bbl.

But, BOFH, at least Canada maintains its highways. Here in California we are letting them deteriorate to the point that the next vehicle I buy may be a Conestoga Wagon.

In Alamogordo, NM prices are from $3.09 to $3.29 for regular.

I saw on CNBC where Libya is shutting off their oil for security reasons. Saudi Arabia will increase production to make up the difference, although it may take a few months to equal the difference.

Ho hum! we paid $2.86 last week in SC. We live in NC but we often have to go to or pass through SC (and always buy gas).

REALLY????!!!!????

Not here. We get a lot of frost damage each spring so there are a lot of patches on all the highways. When they are resurfaced, it only last a couple of years before it too is full of patches. In the city here, they don't fix potholes until it is big enough to park a medium sized car in. Anything less and they call it 'traffic calming'.

Here we go again on the unrest in Libya. High price for regular here in town is now $3.49, low price $3.29. That may increase tomorrow with a barrel of oil at $104.89 at the close. Oil increased at $2.98 today, 3/4/11.

I thought gas was high back when it went over $2 per gallon.
