Saturn Vue two-mode dead, Chevrolet Equinox hybrid unlikely to hit until 2011
It's official. The Vue two-mode is dead before it ever hit showrooms.

This is true. The sale of the Saturn brand is pending and the hybrid technology was not part of the assets transferred in the sale. There was a plan to put the plug-in version of the 2-Mode in a Buick product similar to the VUE. Timing was announced several months ago by GM Vice Chairman of Product Development.
Early reveals of the Buick product to general public resulted in shockingly low perception of the vehicle design in general. As a result, the Buick cross-over was cancelled completely. The 2-Mode plug-in system will, however, still be launched in about the same timing in a vehicle to be revealed later.
