Choices as far as schools? That's why I'm getting depressed. With a 1370, I won't be accepted to abour half for sure.

Stanford, Duke, University of Virginia, Emory, Rice, possibly Washington University in St. Louis, and both University of Central FL and University of FL as safe schools.

That's okay, Mr. Kash. We all have a common interest -- that's all that matters.

I'm shooting for top 1% in my school, with a graduating class of about 650 or so. If I continue to maintain straight A's, I'll end up with a weighted GPA of abou 4.4. I'm currently running for an honor society Treasurer and will run for a separate club's officer as well as class officer later this year.

I was in the top 10% of my class too - but on an inverted list!

What are you looking for in a degree? With the work here, I might want to say CS, but you never know.

I also find it hard to believe your verbal wasn't a little higher, given the way you sound here (at minimum). Maybe you should focus on test-taking rather than specific subject matter! (though with your GPA and all, it is hard to think you aren't at least reasonably good at that!)

I have a good friend that has a materials science degree from UF - lives in Gainesville now in fact. Not too bad a school, I suppose. If you end up there, let me know.

And for jkash, yeah. Me too!

Jack,

I'm probably going into political science and likely to law school. I was disappointed in my SAT scores, but did well on the PSAT (1470)

Jack,

Wasting my time? To the contrary, I think the only way to change the world is to jump right on to the top of the ladder. I'm headed for the White House! No one will listen to a plumber from Idaho (no offense to plumbers from Idaho ).
