The original, NHW10 Prius launch date was Dec. 10, 1997. This was the first production Hybrid-Electric in the world on that date. The Honda Insight was the first USA production hybrid and arrived in North America before the NHW11 Prius.

I wonder if the Prius birthday will show up in the announcements.
