Concerning that last comment, I think our country SHOULD be based on the Constitution which WAS based on the bible. Instead, most Americans create their own interpretations of the Constitution based on their own interpretations of the bible.

Ah, but this country is not populated by Christians and Christians alone. There are those of us who do not consider the Bible an authority over man at all. Separation of Church and State...keep the secular and non-secular worlds separate. This is a democracy, not a theocracy.

Because there's such thing as the Constitution. They wrote it for a reason. They didn't say...

lol...the writers of the constitution didnt write amendments...(err, maybe they did..hmm)
anyway, they wrote the constitution as a God fearing body....who could have forseen gay marrage as an issue??

You know what I mean. And I hate to break it to you, but there were gay people back then. There just wasn't an general acceptance of freedom of speech and equality as there is now.

and there still isnt a general acceptance of gays as it is...the numbers were around 90%+ that felt gay marrage is wrong

That's fairly accurate, but not the point. The issue must be considered constitutional or unconstitutional first.
