I have a ScanGauge and can confirm some info, such as engine temps for warm-up and EV mode. Have not done a good test of RPM or throttle pressure, though.

If you get a Scangauge, I'd be happy to work on some tests with you.

Question Re: Roll call... how many Altima hybrid owners are here?

I'm an owner as of Wednesday. 2009 Black/Black fully loaded.

Got a great deal. Loved drinking around in my car all day Thursday and then
the car died Thursday night! We called a tow truck and they jumped started the car. The dealer is working on replacing the battery this weekend.
Now I'm wondering: Have I made a huge mistake?
I loved it when it ran. But don't really want a high maintenance car.

Some NAH's had battery issues and there was a TSB for cars that are affected. They are probably changing your battery from the Panasonic to the Optima battery. After they change it out, you probably won't have a problem.

bought my first NAH on Sat. fully loaded w/ tech package. had 43K miles for a 2007, was a bit worried about that but i'm confident this car will last for 200k if i take care of it. have a small sputter/stutter question which i asked about in another thread on here, hopefully it's nothing. anyone else creeping up to 50k miles on theirs? any issues thus far i should know about?

THANKS!!!

have an Altima Hybrid with convenience package. Have owned for a month and right now average 33.5 MPG with 90% highway driving. 50 miles each way to work. Very pleased with the car. Replaced a 2002 Ford Explorer. That only gave me 18 MPG with V6 engine. And with gas prices going through the roof, I'm saving a lot of $$$ with this car. BTW, my son also bought one a week before me.

We just bought a 2009 NAH 2 days ago, very nice car indeed.

If anyone has the Convenience package or above, do your automatic door cylinder window controls work both ways? Mine only opens the window - closing the window doesn't work (this is with the key not the keyfob.) The dealer also forgot to give us the cargo net that was part of the convenience package.

One thing I noticed is that there is a whirring sound coming from the engine bay for about 5-10 secs shortly after you turn the car off - does anyone else have this sound or know what it is doing?

I have a 2007 and both auto up/down work. There should be 2 positions to the switches. First click manual, second auto. I pull all the way up for auto up.

Don't know exactly what that is, but mine does the same thing. I think it's closing some valves to retain heat in the engine.

As a side note. I have been playing with trying to figure out how to get the best mileage out of mine. I just succeeded in going 880 miles on a single tank of gas. So based on the amount of fuel put back in and mileage, I got 39.1 with the display reading 41.8. Unfortunately it seems that the reading is definately 1.7mpg higher than actual.

There is some magic that happens at about 62 mph... If you can drive for highest instantaneous mileage and give enough power to keep it at a constant mph. I was able to increase my mileage by 20 miles over my previous best. I still think there is more to be gained there. This is all during my normal commute, which is mostly highway for about 25 miles.

Now if I can figure out what I did to get the 40.5mpg...

1. push the ignition switch to the ON position
2. open the window more than halfway by operating the power window switch
3. pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the windows is closed
4. release the power window switch. operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.
5. perform steps 2 through 4 above for other windows

page 2-43 in my 2007 manual
