Default Prius braking issue?

Since the NAH shares the regen braking system with the Prius, should we assume this affects us as well??

it's a software problem and I'm pretty sure Nissan developed their own software to tweak the NAH to "drive like a Nissan". I think the biggest tell is going out and drive. If it feels fine for you, then you probably don't have a problem.

I have noticed that in the NAH, the regenerative braking is non-responsive when driving on uneven roads or potholes. The kwH meter doesn't go into blue and it is very obvious that the regen brakes are not working. However, the conventional Nissan brakes do work, so it looks like the Nissan software engineers built a solution. Does anybody know if the Prius or TCH works the same way? Reading this article, it seems like Toyota's software could have a bug in it.

"In another serious blow to Toyota, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Thursday morning that is opening a formal defect investigation of the 2010 Toyota Prius, examining allegations that the hybrid vehicle momentarily loses braking when it goes over uneven roads or hits potholes.

^ I find that if your ABS kicks in, you lose the ability to regen until you accelerate again

It's been a known quirk since the 1st gen Prius (model year 2001) although I can't personally say if the sensation's any better worse on the 3rd gen (2010) vs. the 1st or 2nd gen (04 to 09).

Rather than me re-explaining it, see my post at http://my350z.com/forum/8119899-post2.html.

The topic itself have been beaten to death on priuschat.com well before this news came out. Having newbie trolls (some of which may not even own a Pris) making assertions and yelling "the sky is falling" doesn't help over there...

I'm pretty sure I've hit on my mom's NAH but I'm so used how to react when it does occur on my Prius, I don't really think anything of it.

Toyota posted a little more info on the 2010 Prius brake recall.

See http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-hy...formation.html. Doug Coleman and the Prius Team account there are for real. I've personally met Doug at two official Prius events before well before it went on sale. I was invited to one of them via the Prius Team user.

http://priuschat.com/news/2010-toyot...-than-a-minute is a synopsis of the update process. Discussion thread at http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-hy...an-minute.html.
