Hi All:

Yesterday a red light came on the dial section of the dash. It has a "!" in a car symbol. The manual says that this may come on if there is very little fuel in the tank. This was the case and the light did go off after we filled up the tank. I am concerned though because I have never seen this before. Anyone have any info?

sounds about right. how quickly do you usually fill up your tank? I run my tank down all the time until the DTE (distance to empty) is ----.

 

Thanks for the reply. I generally fill up at about a quarter of a tank. The light came on again and then went off during a recent ride which concerns me even more. I fear having to bring it to the dealer for a "Diagnostic Evaluation" @ $95/hour. For a $29K 54,000 mile car this is unacceptable to me. The car should be flawless...sigh.

 

The "!" in a triangle is the symbol telling you there is a warning coming up on the vehicle information and reminder display. This means it could be your TPMS or Gas is low or some other courtesy sensor goes off, it will display a warning. Just scroll thru the warnings to see whats up. These should not be immediate safety issues. See page 2-14 of your owners manual for details

 

It might be because digital meters are very likely to show wrong results at times as they don't get updated instantly and some time some programing errors occurs due to which they show wrong result ..jst have a check when you service at service center ..no big issue ....
