Replace motor 2006 Murcury Mariner Hybrid now shuts off when starts

Replace motor 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid now shuts off when starts
We just replace the motor in our 2006 Mercury Mariner but now when I start it the motor seem like it starts but never fully engages the electric motor then shuts off. Any ideas?
