• Clarification: He said "Hello", I said "Hello", he said "Hello" a second time. Mr. Kite, if returning a Hello is rude....
• Several times, I mentioned the guy was initially nervous as he said "Hello" - I was just there. Repeated the quote yet some choose to ignore or distort the quote. If I wanted to go to the level of the other side on this thread, I'd put these pictures up a month earlier right after it happened, and speculate to support my POV. All that I said is This strech H2 limo with California plates in Oklahoma stoped at a scenic stop for five minutes, guy had a nervous Hello, I returned the greeting, he said Hello again, whet to relieve himself - that's it.
• Gov Schwartzenegger put his Hummers away and is touring California in a green bus to get re-elected - none of you have bothered to explain this.
• The other side chooses to ignore for the third time the reckless Civic/Acure in PR: 98.9mpg and Fast & Furious Stunt Reject because they are so intent to repeat again and again I only vent about Hummers. What happened to the scrunity in that thread?

You guys on the other side are not exactly doing a convincing job of coming across as more honest, open minded, and dispassionate at all, but having credibility probably does not matter to you...

I think you are refering to the www.fuh2.com site - someone eles' pictures. No, I don't really condone the home page picture.

There are enough distortions in this thread without accidently injecting myths such as me doing obcene gestures on the road.

All the pictures I take I'm alone in the car. The side view of the H2 limo has something that might be mistaken for a finger, except it's outside my car and nobody is in the passenger seat.

This thread reminds me of election politics: if you can't win on the merits (i;e. he H2) of your issue, drown out the discussion with relentless personal attacks until you have brainwashed the public they have no credibility.

Amazing at the heated responses have been just describing a pause at a Scenic View....

 

You are right; returning a hello is not rude. Also, a second hello is not an admission of guilt. I don't think anyone here is condoning the use of hummers. I think the problem is that most of us cannot imagine why the driver of this hummer would feel guilty in your presence. Even if you want him to feel guilty and you can think of many reasons why he should feel guilty--I highly doubt that he does.


Anyway, this is just my attempt to brainwash the public.

 

I think this boils down to whether or not any of you wish to believe my account that I sensed nervousness in his tone of voice. Lots of people tend to get chatty such as saying Hello a second time when uneasy.

Many people have this tendacy to strain to make events fit their POV. That's why I said earlier that I believe someone could have covertly videotaped this meeting and someone such as Chilly would say there was no way he was nervous.

There have been threads here with accounts of hybrids at gas stations with the owners of large vehicles giving the hybrid owners dirty looks - find them at your lesure. My account is probably the most extreme of such meetings.

I need to do other things, esp since this has gone from discussion to arguement with the intentional ovesight of facts.

I leave you with the question once again - why is Gov Schwartzenegger hiding his Hummers and campaigning in a green bus?

I don't care what other people decide to buy, it's their right, freedom of choice is a principal that I like.

I've been riding my bike to and from work for a couple weeks now. I'm hanging out at a cycling forum where they bash ALL car drivers as narcassists and poseurs. I'm feeling pressure to get a new bike though, my GT is getting no respect. The cyclists want to change the world to their vision too?

 

I went on a geology field trip to the Arbuckle Mountains and picked up some trilobites, crinoid stems and other fossils. BTW, nice pics of another fossil.

Did you get to Davis and see the sulfur springs? It is (was) an artisian well with some of the coldest water you'd ever find in Oklahoma. It stinks but tastes OK cold. Just don't drink it after it warms up . . . Someday I must tell you about floridated water.

What absolutely gets me about this. Is that you are allowed to call people out and flame them in a forum that supposedly does not tolerate such behavior? I haven't seen a single person in this thread attack you. They have simply pointed out that the driver of the H2 might have been trying to be friendly. In response you have attacked and labeled me and several other contributing posters in this forum. Not the first time for you either. I can only guess what the responses would be had an "SUV apologist" posted in a similar matter to you.



You really should go back and re-read your posts.

Open minded? I haven't seen a single person on here do anything but try to open your mind to the possibility that an alternative explanation exists outside of the one you have convinced yourself of.
