Default NBC 10 Philly has Jeep user try Prius

Monday was gas price panic day on WCAU-TV NBC 10 in Philadelphia. Along with reports on the record gas prices and who might be to blame, they had gas economy tips as well as a piece on hybrid vehicles. They had a Jeep Grand Cherokee driver switch to a Toyota Prius hybrid for a week. Story can be found here.

No wonder America is so screwed up... our media can't even do simple research on CARS!

Toyota is not the only manufacturer of the hybrid. Honda has a hybrid version of its Accord, Civic Insight;
I wonder how well they do investigating and reporting on politics?!?

No, it's a $2000 deduction from your income which translates into a smaller amout of tax savings.

Their bottom line - that the driver will keep his jeep is probably due to the car he drove. To be fair, he said that he likes the size of the jeep so they should have gotten him a hybrid SUV to drive for the week - fuel savings would have been less but he *might* have decided that it was worth it and chosen to switch to a hybrid.

I think the article was wrong. It said the jeep got 17 mpg, but it clearly says 20 MPG on the EPA sticker.

So the Prius didn't do that good compared to the Jeep. Anyway.

What's wrong with that quote?

If it instead read "Accord, Civic and Insight", it would not imply that the "Civic Insight" was their hybrid model of the Accord. I would've left it alone if not for the other egregious errors in the story.
