You know, I've never sat in an Insight. Would like to some day...

Maybe those who are "into" sports cars gave me a big, "duh, what did you expect." But I don't know how anyone over 5'6" and 150 lbs fits into one of them. Anyway I'm looking for something WAY more confortable than that in my next hybrid. I was just hoping this car would be more confortable than an S2000.

Tim,

If you have been in a CRX, it's virtually like being in an Insight from the perspective of passenger room.

Looks wise, it's too early to tell. I liked the Remix better than this one, but it's not bad (assuming it had mirrors and smaller wheels).

What I'm more concerned with is the guts. I would not be willing to buy another hybrid unless it is a substantial improvment over the HCHII we own now (even though we would keep the HCH and the new hybrid would be a third car). I want to see something ground breaking like an HCH engine with a hybrid system as powerful as a Prius (or even better). It had better be able to plug into the wall when I get home too so the battery is full every morning.

It would really be nice to have a Jeckle/Hyde hybrid that got Insight MPG when you drove it conservatively but had strong accelleration if you flog it. If anyone can build a car like that it's Honda so I have high hopes.

I would buy this. The HCH I 4-door sedan doesn't fit my personality very well. But then again, neither does an overwhelmingly flashy sports car. I really just want them to make an Accord Coupe hybrid, with some additional fuel economy improvements over the current Accord sedan.

I thought about buying an S2000, but I'm 6' 1", and the trunk was just too small.

Note they did not say anything about performance or fuel economy. If I'm wrong, please fill me in.

I'm a Honda guy, but this is starting to look like Detroit's tatic of teasing us with a concept car to divert what Toyota has and will definitely have in the short term. Honda's credentials are excellent on the enrironment, so I hope they have something out soon. Clean diesel seem to be their best card right now.

I could have said the exact thing word-for-word. Since my kids are getting older I have less of a need for a 4-door, but I have to admit that an S2000 (or similar) probably isn't a true fit to my personality. But you hit excactly what I wish they'd produce - an Accord hybrid coupe that got high 30's / low 40's MPG. I'd take a 4 cyl version with a CVT, leather, satellite radio, heated seats - and I'm all set. I'd also be really interested in an Infiniti G35 coupe hybrid or even a Lexus IS 250 hybrid (come on Toyota!).
