Default Howdy from Texas!

Hello, All! I'm Michael, from the DFW mid-cities (specifically Euless).

I've a 2005 Driftwood #6 on order (since April 28, I'm such a n00b!). I became fascinated with the Prius when my daughter Lori bought her 2003 Prius. I finally decided to graduate out of my 2001 VW New Beetle into a real car and put my Prius on order.

Of course, I'm impatiently waiting, though so far I've managed to avoid calling the dealer and asking, "Any change yet?" My salesdude thought my car would show up in an allocation in late May and that I might have my Prius near the end of June or beginning of July. Geeze, that sounds like forever! How the heck did those of you who had to wait for many months stand it? *grin*

No waiting for me. It was a surprise, sitting in my garage I'm moving to Houston in August. Keep the state sane until I arrive, eh?

michaelmcgaw,
Welcome!
...I might have my Prius near the end of June or beginning of July
. You'll have to play that Tom Petty song, "the waiting is the hardest part".
Hopefully people will have some tips on how to not think about the wait.

Let me extend you a welcome in advance to Texas, Jason!

Houston in August might be tough, trial by fire. *grin* So far, though, the weather this year has been mild up here in the DFW area, might have been the same for Houston.

Way back in the day (1981), the summer was bad in Houston. I remember at 02:30am one morning i got called into work and the temperature was still 93F. Don't recall the humidity, but it was pretty miserable. Hopefully this year won't be like that!

Thanks for the welcome, Jason.

Best,
-- michael

Thank you for the welcome, Eric! *smile*

You're right about that song. *nod* I'll have to adopt it as my theme until my Prius arrives. Once she's here, i'll have to wait and see what permanent theme she suggests to me.

Take care,
-- michael
