Hi,

I have been on the Yahoo group since before I got my 04 BC Seaside Pearl before Thanksgiving. I have almost 12000 miles on Gracie, and installed the EV button last week.

I hit my first 600 mile tank, but that was with my husband driving it a lot (he drives a "real" EV, so knows how to be very gentle on acceleration) - I usually average in the 54-56 range.

Hi Jan:

___Let me be the first to welcome you and your husband on this fine day before the long holiday weekend. With the few fuel economy tips posted around Greenhybrid.com, both you and your EV driving husband will probably go even further on a tank/charge then ever before although you are doing fantastic as it is!

___Another goal to strive for in case you are interested … Once your lifetime hits 55 mpg (Prius’ city/hwy combined); you will become known as the fourth Prius II hypermiler. A very worthwhile goal and by all appearances, you are on your way up the chart already!

___Good Luck

Welcome, Jan!
54-56...very respectable mileage!

I like your vehicle, name "Gracie". Care to tell a bit about the name?

Electric Vehicle. It's the button that disables the engine on the Prius II if it's safe so that it runs off the battery and motor. The EV button comes on some European Prius but not in the US or Canada.

Some people like to use it when its early in the morning so they do not bother their neighbors when they are sleeping. I would use it to scare people
