Hello from San Diego (v.2)
Hello all,
Been enjoying my Insight (Kermit) for all of 2 weeks now and have loved every minute behind the wheel. It's a beautiful 02 Silverstone 5-spd. I've already replaced the stock radio and speakers (Crutchfield), added a second horn (thanks to Jackmpg of Insightcentral), a set of Wet Okole seat covers, had the windows tinted, added the radiator block, removed the rear wiper, and have the Scangauge II on order.
Also planning on replacing the stock 12v battery with an Odyssey PC545, adding the Rostra Cruise Control, and getting it fitted with a custom exhaust (thanks again to Jackmpg)...eventually.
I'm only (
) averaging around 56 mpg so far, but getting better. Can't wait to take a nice long road trip and really let her stretch her legs.
Green with no envy...

Hello Meredith,
Have to say, I'm loving the Wet Okole. They add a nice cushion and look and feel great. I tried to get them to cut me a back hatch mat to match, but no luck. I'm going to check out a few dive shops and the like around here and see if I can't luck into a nice size scrap sheet of neoprene. In the meantime, I just bought a sheet of marine grade grey vinyl and cut it myself (for the dog...
). It's an easy (and cheap--less than $11) fix for now.

I had a hard time picking a color! ended up with the navy that matched the car, but i really wanted the hibiscus flowers, however not sure i would like them down the road and the covers are pricey.
Tony, thanks for the update, and glad to hear you're loving your new car.
You reminded me of this story... since Spanish is my first language at home, we always called the Insight "La Ranita," which means, "The Little Frog." So, it was very perceptive of you to call your car Kermit. Now we have real evidence that cars do, indeed, speak to their humans!
