Default Hello

I have a three week old 2006 Escape Hybrid that already has over 1200 miles on it. I can't stay out of this thing!

I evolved into the FEH from two Ford Explorers, one Honda Pilot, then (as gas prices started rising) a Subaru Outback. I had been wanting a hybrid since the intro of the Prius but was waiting for a hybrid SUV as I have some dirt-road and cargo needs. After following the Escape for a year I decided it was the one.

Mine is Titanium Metallic Green with the premium package. I am completely satisfied with it so far, and have to admit it has changed the way I drive. While it has plenty of zip, it now hurts me to use it! Ol' leadfoot now is Ol' featherfoot as I strive for ever-better mileage.

Look forward to learning a lot from the group!

Hi grock321, and welcome !

There is a pretty active and growing FEH group here -- I'm sure you will find a lot to talk about

Amazing how knowledge trumps ignorance, eh? I think that's the biggest improvement in a long time. If every new vehicle sold had an FCD we would save millions more barrels with marginal technology implemented. The sad thing is that this sort of thing could have been easily implemented years ago, but I'm sure there are marketing reasons for not including it.

Welcome to the forums.

Hello, and welcome to the club!

I think many of us have a similar story. Former Explorer owner ('95 myself), who traded in their aging SUV to get a high tech, high efficiency SUV, find ourselves going from heavy on the gas pedal to much lighter in persuit of ever higher MPG Numbers.

I've had mine a month and I'm closing in on 2000 miles. On a side note, I got my oil changed (at 1200 miles) and I noticed that my MPGs shot drastically up, from high 30's to 32!

Hey, as long as we've got SUVs we might as well have hybrid SUVs. Glad you like yours. Enjoy it!

I like this quote! I can certainly relate to it. No more speeding tickets for me either.

Nearly two thousand miles and I am still loving it. I have been filling my gas tank before I need to for the simple pleasure of the fact that it takes so little gas (not to mention that I can then verify my mileage figures).

Over the past week I have had to flog the car pretty hard in Atlanta freeway traffic (dead stop to 70mph as fast as you can get there or get run over) and STILL did 31 mpg!

The car has been dead reliable, no complaints or glitches at all. This is a truly amazing piece of techology!

LOL, I think I like mine more now than when I got it.

Enjoy!
