Hello
I bought a Honda Civic Hybrid a week ago on 4/21. I'm not a commuter but I thought it would be good for the environment. So far I'm getting about 43 mpg over the 300 miles. Not quite as high as I hoped, but I'm not complaining. I've managed to get the trip meter over 51 mpg, but it doesn't last long. I've noticed everytime I slow down or speed up I'm watching the little insant milage reporter thing (under the odometer) to keep the milage up. I might have to turn it off. The car is awesome so far.

Re: Hello
Welcome, Ryan! Don't let your first 43 MPG tank discourage you. I've gone everywhere from low 40's to low 50's in my Prius. It all depends on your conditions and (if you bother) your determination to drive more efficiently! You'll learn with time.

Re: Hello
Saith,
Thanks for the intro. I think you are on the right track as far as .."watching the little insant milage reporter thing..." It helps to be aware of it, but not overdo it. Kind of like watching stock prices.
I'm glad to hear you like your hybrid!
